Meet Komrads – yet another brand for sustainable and stylish sneakers we’re happy to present to you!
Komrads is a sneaker brand that has a unique history that goes back to the Soviet Times. It was originally designed as a response to the Western shoe revolution: with Komrads, the Czech Boot Company created a trademark model that became a symbol of anti-capitalism. However, production was halted in 2009, and the brand was almost forgotten. Greet and Mark from Belgium recognized the potential of the iconic Komrads sneaker and decided to recycle and transform Komrads into a contemporary eco-rebel brand.
They describe themselves as world lovers and sneaker addicts and caring parents. In the face of climate change, landfills full of waste from the fashion industry and unethical working conditions, Greet and Mark dreamt of a truly sustainable sneaker brand that does not involve harming animals, people or the planet.
This is why Komrads sneakers today are built entirely from re-used and recycled and organic materials, including recycled rubber soles and organic cotton uppers. Eco-friendly dyes and water-based adhesives are used in the manufacturing process.
With a wide variety of colors and styles to choose from, there's a pair of Komrads sneakers for everyone – regardless of age, gender or race. Whether you prefer classic white sneakers or bold and colorful designs, Komrads got you covered.
