ID.EIGHT is the brainchild of the couple Dong Seon Lee and Giuliana Borzillo, representing the desire for a more sustainable (fashion) world. Both expressed their creativity professionally in the fashion industry, which eventually led their paths to cross at a shoe fair in 2017. They fell in love with each other on the spot, and it didn't take long for them to breathe life into their shared vision – to establish an eco-conscious footwear brand. The name ID.EIGHT itself carries profound meaning: 'ID' stands for Identity, while 'EIGHT' symbolizes the boundless cycles of regeneration.
The gender-neutral sneakers exude the laid-back essence of 1990s style and a unique coolness. They are made from industrial waste like apple peels and cores, which are transformed into vegan apple leather. To further minimize the ecological footprint of their sneakers, GRS-certified recycled polyester, natural rubber, and organic cotton are used. The Marche region in Italy houses the ethical production of these sneakers in a small local factory to minimize transportation routes.
Crafted seamlessly down to the smallest detail, the sneakers reflect the founders' passion for shoes. The packaging also mirrors the brand's ethics – it is made from recycled cardboard and biodegradable bioplastic bags. As a small gesture from Dong and Giuliana, your order also includes a seed bomb. With it, you can create a touch of nature in a neglected corner of your city or enjoy it yourself by planting it in a pot for your home.
Regarding sizing, the sneakers tend to run slightly smaller. If you find yourself between two sizes or wear different sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size.
